Blogger Layouts Question
Ok, so I'm stumped. You may have noticed I've been messing with my template a lot lately. I'm kind of old school when it comes to this stuff, so I don't mind mucking around in the html/css to get the page to look the way I want it to. I tend to stay away from all the fancy "widgets" and whatnot. At least, that's my excuse for why, as a guy who's been doing web development for 8 years, I can't figure out how to implement the new Blogger "layout" functionality.
I thought that maybe it couldn't convert from my crazy ass homemade template, so I replaced it with one of the standard templates for one of my blogs, and it still doesn't give me the option.
Has anybody else had this problem? WTF?

Sorry, you're on your own, buddy.
I upgraded to the new templates for the archive menu, but found I couldn't make some of the tweaks to the template that I wanted. So I changed back.
Dude, you're asking the wrong person. I can't even figure out how the can opener works.
For the record, I think your blog rocks no matter what template you're using. And I'm not just saying that because I want your body.
Everyone else is leaving blogger and you are trying to join?
My solution to the whole thing is to close my eyes, press a button and hope for the best.
I'm sitting here with my maw open, agape that you can even ask such questions.
See, I wouldn't even know how to ask such questions, and not just because Blogger has no f-ing support within easy reach, outside of preset explanations.
Last night, thinking to myself, "That Diesel has such an awesome site; what if I could put one interesting-looking thing on mine?" I tried some monkeying around.
I got nowhere. But I did see the words AdSense and widget, if that helps.
Man, you guys are SO helpful.
I'm not joining Blogger; I'm just trying to get it to do what I want it to do.
I've decided that drag-and-drop widgets are for losers. I'm sticking with the old school method. I got everything pretty much sorted out.
Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow morning with a real post to reward you for your, uh, efforts.
Not me. I fear change. (But I eat amnds.)
Everyone using blogger has this problem. Fear not, there's a solution that's easy, painless, and best of all - free. Wordpress.
Oh I daren't do the 'upgrade' thingy, it said that it might eat my template. I've had my blog eaten once. Never again, it was lost in the ether for a couple of weeks.
I went to beta, that's quite enough for one year thank you.
Nope, I'm an idiot when it comes to web design but my old blogger blog converted beautifully. Switch to wordpress.
not a clue. zip. zero. nada. xox
I think maybe you made it angry :-(
I got sick of Blogger's weirdness and moved my whole blog onto my domain. Much easier that way :) BTW - the Picard look is cute ;)
