Once again, I'm over at the Snark, bitching about Hollywood girlie-men.
While you're here though, can I ask you a favor? You may have noticed I've made some changes to this site. One of these is a new section over there to the right that reads "Be a Helpful Citizen." What does this mean?
Well, when you click one of those little graphics, it helps this site climb the rankings in that blog directory. A higher rank means more people can find my blog, which increases the odds that I'll keep writing stuff like this and this for a while. That would be a good thing, right?
Most of the sites will log one click/vote per user per day. So if every one of you clicked on one of those links every time you visited this site... we could probably crash my server. I'm willing to risk it.

Geez, and all this time I didn't realize that people "voting" for you on those sites could raise your rankings (I thought it was just total pageviews). I voted for ya! I learn something new every day ...

It looks like every incoming vote counts as 100 "visitors" ... so if 30 people voted for your per day, you'd be pretty near the top right now. Interesting algorithm.

Well, you toplist whore, you're little tactic worked. You passed me and moved into spot number 5 even though I have 5 times more traffic. And look, so far you've gotten a whopping 10 hits. If you want to crash your server anytime soon you'll need to find a couple thousand more toplists. ;)
Thanks to everybody who voted! And please keep it up! I've moved from 17 to 5 on BlogTopList, from 34 to 30 on TopBlogArea, and from 100 to 97 on BlogTopSites.
True, it's not going to make a huge difference in my traffic any time soon, but every little bit helps. More people find out about my site, and then they vote for me, or link to me, or tell their grandmother....
As for building my readership "the old fashioned way" -- yeah, I tried that. And all 12 of you seem to really appreciate it.
