Ok, Mrs. Diesel and I stayed up late last night picking the best captions. I read them to her in random order with as much enthusiasm as I could muster, and she picked the ones she liked the best. Initially she had a list of 15 favorites, but several of these were by the same two people. One of these people is better known for commenting on crummy church signs. The other is known for occasionally posting insightful commentary at Central Snark. Once she picked her favorites from each of those jokers, we were down to ten finalists.

my favorite part of thise whole voting process is the "fetching results" that pops up after i've made a selection. yes, those results are "fetching" alright. very glamorous, indeed.
not bitter about the fact you DIDN'T do a post for the Snark today (okay, so techinically, you DID DO A POST... and a pretty hilarious one, at that) and especially NOT BITTER about the fact that nary a one of my captions made it to the finals. "gifted" to the point you OVER-filled your Spiderman Tube Socks??? hellllloo? that's just funny. at least in my head, it was. ; )

Goldennib - For the record, I was required to submit my captions AFTER everyone else, so I was at a disadvantage. Additionally, Mrs. Diesel picked them not knowing who wrote them. I can't help it that she thinks I'm funny. Oh well, it looks like I'm going to lose anyway.
I can't even imagine how long it took you read all those to Mrs. Diesel. Sounds like a night made in heaven for the two of you.
This is going to be very tough to decide. I like 11 of them!

I still think the worst of my captions was picked; it's clear that humor, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. But I still owe her a drink, just for picking me. I also think Neva's "Pack of Perky Peckers" and G's "tangled web" captions should have been in the top ten, I got a great laugh out of those.
